“Morbus Cordis“

'Morbus Cordis' is about a boy named Bryan. At the beginning of the film we see Bryan at school. This is the moment when his teacher tells him that his father has been admitted to the hospital due to a strong stab in the chest.

Afterwards, Bryan's father lies in a hospital bed. There is an in-depth conversation between the parents and Bryan who is trying to entertain himself in the background. Then the doctor comes to tell us that Bryan's father has Marfan Syndrome and explains that it is a hereditary heart condition. The family is of course shocked by this, because it is quickly assumed that Bryan has the same heart disease.

Bryan has to process the news. He also has to explain to everyone what he has and what it entails. He meets with friends such as Robbin and Tijn and explains how Marfan works and what it means to him. He also explains that this can be passed on to his children and that it probably won't make Bryan old. But besides his heart disease, he's just trying to live his life the way he wants.

For example, he comes into contact with energy drinks and becomes addicted to them, while his parents are not satisfied with this. He also starts smoking, which is of course not good for his health. As a result, he hears a lot of criticism about how he lives his life and it starts to irritate him.
